The completed model above. The tarp resting on the toolbox was created using Magic Sculpt. Various weld beads were scratch built using styrene, Tamiya cement, and an X-Acto blade.

The painting and weathering process documented below began with a coat of Tamiya Nato Green, then lightened with a second coat that included Tamiya Yellow Green.

Images of AMPS Centex 2011

Road tripped down to Austin for the October 22nd AMPS Centex show. It was a good show - plenty of models, good vendor turnout, and a really cool display of WWII German uniforms and weapons.

Konigstiger by Gary Boggs

This is the recent 1/35th scale release King Tiger Late w/zimmerit by Dragon. It is built to represent a tank from Stab./s.H.Pz.Abt. 505, 3./s.H.Pz.Abt. 505 number 321 commanded by Lt. Erwin Volker in the area of Gross Blumenau, Germany in April of 1945. (from "Konigstiger in Color" by Waldemar Trojca)

The turret area without zimmerit was achieved with a Dremel tool and patient sanding. The decals for the kit were sourced from extra decals from the Cyber Hobby kit that depicts a tank from this company.

Painting was done with an Iwata airbrush using Tamiya acrylics. Finishing was achieved using various Tamiya, Vallejo, Mig, and other oil resources.
